Adopt-A-Highway (AAH) is an MDOT program designed to help keep the state's highway roadsides clean and attractive. Participants adopt both sides of a section of state highway roadside to clean up for at least two years. A minimum two-mile stretch of roadway is recommended. All types of state highways may be adopted, including two-lane roads, limited access highways, boulevards, and business routes.

Since 1990, AAH local groups have collected over a million bags of trash. Currently, 2,900 groups are participating in the program and have adopted over 6,000 miles of Michigan highways. For more information, visit Michigan Department of Transportation Adopt-A-Highway website.

Our first Adopt-a-Highway Cleanup was on April 13th. We appreciate each volunteer, as we wouldn't have succeeded without you. The next two dates are July 20th (there is a rain backup date) and Sept 21th (28th rain backup).

The stretch of road we are responsible for is 17 Mile Rd/M46 from Algoma Ave to Olin Lakes Rd. and we need at least 8 volunteers during each clean-up.  We meet behind Huck's Corners (Algoma and 17 Mile).

We have pick-up dates in the Spring, Summer, and Fall. Please check back for updates.
