Welcome to CSUMC! Meet Pastor Michelle Vallier, a passionate leader committed to guiding our congregation on their spiritual journey. 

Originally from Kansas, Pastor Michelle settled in the Muskegon, MI area in 2013. She was a professional violinist and teacher for over 25 years, transitioning to pastoral ministry in July 2021, and has been serving Cedar Springs UMC as a Licensed Local Pastor since that time. She received her Master of Divinity in May 2023 from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary and looks forward to being Commissioned as a Provisional Elder at the 2024 Michigan Annual Conference. Pastor Michelle believes thriving communities of faith, as reflections of God’s diversity of creation, should be the safest spaces in which to engage in difficult conversations with people who may never agree on all things. She loves God, people, music, the great outdoors, and good food. Pastor Michelle has one daughter and balances family and church responsibilities with quality time in the garden, on the beach, in the woods, or doing home DIY projects.
